Who I am
My name is Paul Cammack. I recently retired from the post of Professor of Global Political Economy in the Department of Asian and International Studies at City University Hong Kong, after teaching at the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University from 1981 to 2010. I consider myself a classical Marxist. You can find most of my publications on academia.edu.
What this site is for
I post reviews of recent and not so recent books in the broad field of mainstream and critical international/global political economy. Each book is rated on a worth-reading scale of 1 to 100, and a recommendation to buy it means that I think it is worth a permanent place in your library. While some books go on the bookshelf, others go in the bin. Most probably will fall somewhere between. I aim to add one or two books each month, selected from what I am reading at the moment, and what I think is worth noticing from the past.
